Nieuwkomersschool De Schakel is een kleine basisschool, met op dit moment vier groepen. De school is een bestuurlijke onderwijsvoorziening voor kinderen die net in Nederland zijn in de leeftijd van 4 tot en met 12 jaar en in Nederland onderwijs volgen. De leerlingen zijn afkomstig uit de hele wereld.
